Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to head back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
