Barça to Host First Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
