Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Game of the Year award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the studio's triumph, its skilled actors also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
